Gameplay[]
To start off each game, the player is given a coin toss, and the player is given a choice of choosing red or black. If the coin flip matches the player's choice, the player can decide to either receive the football for the first half and kickoff the second half. Otherwise, the player will kick in the first half and receive in the second half.
Offense[]
When the player is on offense, the objective is to score a touchdown. Prior to each play, the player is presented with sets of offensive plays to choose from. The player will have the option to run the football, pass the football, or even run the football with their own quarterback. In the event the player reaches 4th down and does not score a touchdown, the game will, by default, show the special formation, which allows the player to punt the ball, or take a field goal. The player can also "go for it" on fourth down and choose another play of their choice should they chose to at the risk of a turnover on downs if they fail to score or do not get a first down.
There are six different offensive formations to chose from. The player can freely choose a play of their choice at any time.
- Shotgun
- Spread
- Goal Line
- Special
Defense[]
When the player is on defense, the objective is to stop the opposing team from scoring a touchdown, a field goal, or getting a first down. On fourth down, the opposing team will generally punt the football unless the opposing team is within range of a field goal(around 35 yards) or go for it if the opposing team is behind with less than 1 minute to play in the second half.
There are six different defensive formations to chose from. The player can freely choose a play of their choice at any time, although some plays work best at some situations.
- Nickel
- Dime
- Goal Line
- Special
Scoring[]
There are multiple ways a team can score. A team can score points regardless if they have the ball or not.
- Touchdown(6 points each)
- Touchdowns is the best way to score because they reward the most points. After a touchdown, the scoring team gets an opportunity to kick a field goal for an extra point, or attempt a two-point conversion by running a play other than the field goal for 2 points. They are most commonly scored by the offense, although the defense can score a touchdown from a forced fumble that is recovered by the defense and taken into the end zone, or by an interception returned for a touchdown(pick 6). The rarest way of scoring a touchdown is from special teams, where the returning team(from punt/kickoff) returns for a touchdown.
- Field Goal(3,1)
- Field goal is another option for the offense to score should they fail to convert a third down. Prior to the kick, the player will have the option to adjust the direction, and select how powerful the kick will be. The opponents will tend to only attempt a field goal when they are 35 yards or less away from the end zone. However, it is possible to kick and make a field goal farther away(Max is 39?) when kicked at full power.
- Safety(2)
- A safety is scored when the offense is sacked/tackled inside their own end zone. The points will be rewarded to the defense and the defense will get the ball.
